ABOUT US

old arizona theater

This charming and unique destination is THE place to gather for celebration, food and wine, music and theater. 100% of the profits from these ventures help support our 501(c)(3) non-profit, which encourages young women and girls to fulfill their dreams, hold on to their voices, be true to themselves and to make informed choices. Since 1995, co-owners Darcy Knight and Elizabeth Trumble have operated youth programs that serve over 1,500 teen girls in need of a safe haven where they can participate in arts related activities during unsupervised out-of-school time. Check Arizona Bridge Project and 29th Street Petal Pushers for more information.

Old Arizona's campus includes a uniquely appointed cafe and wine bar, a comfy tea shop and chocolate lounge, the "Spirit Room", a classy little bottle shop featuring fine wines and premium spirits, a dance studio, and a rehearsal loft, affectionately referred to as the "jungle gym", where many of the performances at the Jungle Theater are rehearsed.

Also housed within its historic walls is a large versatile space that doubles as a black box theater for theatrical productions and dance performances as well as a production studio for video and still photography. Many Twin Cities, as well as nationally and internationally recognized performing artists have made Old Arizona the go-to place for either rehearsing or producing their projects.

Located at the intersection of Nicollet Avenue and 29th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota, just five minutes south of the downtown business district, Old Arizona is busy year round. The center hosts an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary theatrical productions, dance performances, concerts, commercial film and video productions, screenings, CD release parties, weddings and receptions, special occasion parties, and corporate events.

Old Arizona plays a significant role in the economic and cultural development of the inner-city neighborhood in which it makes its home. Thank you for supporting Old Arizona!
